Our Burns Night special kitchen takeover last night was a spectacular success! Louise did us proud with a scrummy, traditional Scottish menu enjoyed by all.

Whilst Tegan’s piping and leading Louise in with the Haggis caught everyone’s attention!.

And Andrew Towler & Richard Allen’s double act for the Address to the Haggis really made it a memorable evening for the packed house.

Behind the scenes, the volunteers were busy under the direction of Chef Louise. The three-course meal was a cracker – Cullen Skink; Haggis, Neeps &s Tatties; and Cranachan . There was a wee dram too.

Prizes for the Scottish-themed raffle included Balvenie Doublewood 12 malt whisky, Grants whisky, a traditional ‘Jimmy Hat’, the famous delicacy tablet, Irn Bru made from girders, and more. Thanks for the donations. Money raised goes to the Renovation Funds. Dawn Chojnacki ‘piped’ them in with helper Anne Tebbatt.

The volunteers had done a stonking job of setting up The Pub and The Coach House to get everyone in. Table decorations and flags & bunting continued the Scottish theme. A little light Scottish music too!.

All profits went to the Friends’ Renovation Fund, and we’d like to thank everyone who supported us. And to the volunteer team who provided the meal, environment, music and entertainment!
