This Friends of The Swan Archive documents the life and evolution of our pub over recent years, capturing events, restoration work, and the pub’s role within the local community. The Swan is unique not only as a pub and a hub for the local community, but it also hosts a sixth form college!

Receiving The Keys

Celebrations of finally receiving the keys. Nearly 200 supporters joined for refreshments and to hear the exciting plans.
Renovating

The building was stripped back to bare brick and foundations and rebuilt by volunteers and fantastic local tradesmen.
Reopening

After a full six months, on 20th July 2019, the pub re-opened with our oldest supporter and the town crier being first served.
Quiz Nights

Since reopening, Quiz and Bingo Nights have been extremely popular, packing out the pub well in advance.
Special Events

We use any excuse to have a special event -SwanFest, Christmas in July, Jubilees, Burns Night, BeerFests, and many more!
Chatty Café

Since its inception in 2023, our Chatty Café has become extremely popular for those looking to get out and meet others,
