The community is at the heart of everything we do at The Swan, and with huge thanks to our loyal customers and community members, we managed to get the pub summer-ready! The coach house transformed into a warm, welcoming space with more seating and a clarinova piano generously donated to us from St Andrews church. The cowshed was completely de-cluttered with additional seating underneath, and the old bar area was removed to make way for our table football stadium, ready to be played.
The courtyard was revitalised with brand new plants, the kids’ bench repaired and repainted, and our old outside bar, upcycled from the original staircase in the pub, is a new seating bar in the suntrap of the garden! Inside the pub and the loos have had a much-needed refresh, and work has started to make the front of our pub beautiful again! In advance of the main works, which will include new windows, the existing frames on the ground floor were repaired and, with a coat of paint to come, will provide a temporary refresh.
