Over 30 shareholders and loanees attended a meeting for Community Investors in the Swan Clewer CIC. They heard from former Community Director Hollie Harrison about changes to the management and governance structure of the CIC and a plan to broaden the volunteer base at the pub. Director Willie Calvert gave an update on the financial position and strategic direction of the CIC, outlining the priorities for the continued renovation of the site. The CIC has said that full minutes will be available soon (sorry no pics).
Whilst waiting for the minutes from the CIC, one very notable thing was mentioned that needs to be aired before the Open Forum of 30th Mar. On 20th Jan, Companies House were informed by the CIC that Windsor & Eton Brewing Company Ltd ceased to be a “person” with significant control on 30 December 2025. The Brewery’s shares have been acquired by Willie Calvert, current CIC Director, who now holds (directly or indirectly) between 25% and 50%. Although requested, no written communication has been made by the CIC to the shareholders/stakeholders, nor has any public statement been made. The Swan has been removed from the Brewery’s portfolio on their website.
