Heralded as the Oscars of the pub industry, this prestigious competition, which has been running for almost 20 years, recognises the best pub operators in the country. The competition sees pubs from across Britain enter in the hope of winning one of the industry’s most sought-after accolades.

The Swan made an appearance for SIX consecutive years, quite an achievement, and to say we are “well chuffed” is an understatement. We are extremely proud to be mentioned in this prestigious publication that lists the best of the best.

LocAle is an initiative that promotes pubs stocking locally brewed real ale in order to reduce the number of “beer miles” from brewery to pub cellar. It is based on growing consumer demand for quality local produce and increasing awareness of environmental issues.

The Swan is listed in the local Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead (SWM) CAMRA website, meaning that we are recognised as selling beer regularly from one of their LocAle Breweries, in this case our friends at the very nearby Windsor & Eton Brewery.
In February 2026, The Swan was awarded the independent Cask Marque. This is awarded to pubs serving consistently great cask ales. This is judged by an independent assessor, so you don’t just have to take our word for it.

Not only does it mean we have great cask ales, but you can be rest assured that our lines, cellar and even glasses are maintained to a high quality.
